About Our Volunteers
Volunteers are welcomed at all Unit 4 schools. Each year over 1,000 volunteers donate over 15,000 hours of time to our schools: tutoring, mentoring, or assisting in classrooms. Public school districts cannot succeed in their mission without the dedication and support of the many volunteers who work in our classrooms. We are grateful for the caring and commitment of our volunteers and can honestly say, we can't do it without YOU!
Become a volunteer today. Download an application and return to any school site.

What is the senior volunteer program?
Unit 4 Schools, with support from WellCare Health Plans Inc. are piloting a ground-breaking program in the local high schools to bring senior (55 and older) volunteers into the classrooms to assist the regular classroom teachers with instruction. We are seeking seniors with experience in business, computers, building and technical trades, writing, theater, art, dance, coaching and other areas to sign up to volunteer in the high schools. For more information about this program, please call Lauren Smith, (217) 351-3722.
